Hi all,

Just wondered if any one is using lightroom by Adobe, i got a free copy as i had a paid up version of Raw Shooter Pro by Pixmantec which got brought out by Adobe. If you shoot RAW and want more control download a trail version and see how much more control you have over your images, infact it doesnt have to be RAW you can use the same tools on Jpegs too. And if anyone else has it i would like to think what you think of it.

Andy

wasn't that impressed with the early release, and couldn't really be bothered updating the trial.

Love to know how you get on with it

I quite like it in comparison to Capture One LE and ACR. I'm quite interested in having a lean workflow for raw - if i could speed things up i'd shoot raw all the time, and Lightroom definitely speeds the process up in comparison to the other two.

Not too arsed about the library/collection malarkey as I have pix spread over ultiple machines and my main imaging machine (lappy) doesn't hold pics for very long before they're transferred to both my unix server and usb hdd archives

coo Smile

Nothing fancy - it's an athlon xp 2100+ with a gig of ram running fedora core 2. I forget how much disk space it has, but it's basically a web/mysql server and filestore. i've got samba running so any pc on my lan can read & write stuff to it (as long as the pc is logged in as me!) I have 2 other windows desktops and a lappy, so having a central filestore becomes extremely useful Smile

I used to run my point2pointing photo archive off it until a couple of months ago, although i guess it may need to move back in the future when i have too many images to host with a third party!

It's far from the most fashionable distro, but it does the job ok and at least was easy to install.. i gave up trying to install gentoo and suse!
