Have a look here

http://www.nikonusa.com/Find-Your...oduct/Digital-SLR/25444/D700.html

and here

http://imaging.nikon.com/products.../digitalcamera/slr/d700/index.htm

Unfortunately for me, to change would mean changing all the lenses I have, as the camera is FX format (full frame) as per the D3.

Will it be released here?

Lovely - I don't think I will be able to afford it, although I AM looking to buy a new camera.

D700 certainly looks a nice piece of kit - pretty much everything a D3 has but in a smaller (and more importantly cheaper) frame

That said, I'm looking at two D300s (one for me, one for the mrs) as dave said, there are additional factors like lenses at the shorter end, and from what i've read, the 70-200 is a bit soft on the D3, and I can't see it being any different on the D700
