now i'm trying to learn how to use photoshop cs2, i find it keeps freezing my pc and i have to restart the computer each time. i thought it was lack of RAM so have added more taking it to 1256mb. that hasn't stopped it freezing up though. has anyone else experienced this?
these are the 2 i was spending ages trying to photoshop but kept losing the changes due to crashes. not sure if its worth persevering with them
i liked these shots because the lantern wasn't actually lit - it was the sun behind it making it look like it was lit. but something else is needed to make the photo into a better picture. i wanted to change the sky but couldn't do it, and lighten up the dark areas.
i might even go back there and have another try at taking better shots

What size processor are you running and is you computer actually recognising all of the ram (seems a strange amount). Open the task manager and see how much of your processor and ram is actually been used while using CS2.
Does it only crash while using CS2? Have you scanned for viruses / spyware? _________________
assuming you are using winxp or win2k, delete the photoshop folder out of C:\Documents and Settings\*username*\Application Data\Adobe\Photoshop\9.0 rename the folder called settings,
Next time you start up pshop it will recreate this directory. delete it only after you have confirmed it is all working. You will lose any custom settings or views you have created.
Richard, I did as you suggested and have just had a very quick play with Hue & saturation which is usually what kills it and..... I managed to do it without any problems. Early days but fingers crossed that may have worked. Will let you know after I've had a longer session.
Many thanks for your help
