Closest comparison to Canon's 5D is the D200, and it's closer-run than most people would expect from what I've read. All this shenanighans about megapixels is moot by the way - the difference between 10 and 12 megapixels is less than an inch when printed.

Apart from the 5D has a full frame sensor, and the 200D isnt, the point i was trying to make was that nikon dont make a full frame sensor camera, and have sort of not bothered to for whatever reason which i think is a shame.

Correct me if i am wrong, but as far as I know the sensor is the most expensive part to make. this might have something to do with why they haven't made one. Although it shouldn't!

Being a global super-corp, Canon have a lot more money to bring to things like the astronomical cost of constructing a ff sensor - the failure rate is a lot higher than for aps-c sensors

TBH I think the real-world _needs_ for a ff sensor are less significant than people's need to buy the latest and greatest stuff.

Nikon Coolpix 8700.
That's it, LOL.

It's not my weapon of choice- but unfortunately it's the only weapon I have. I'm probably the only person on here without a DSLR... but ya know what? It makes me try twice as hard, so maybe it's ok. Very Happy

There's nothing wrong with the images you are taking.

It's been said before elsewhere on this forum that its the person behind the camera controlling the image, not the camera.

Give David Bailey a compact and he will still take better images than most people with an slr

I don't have DSLR either. I agree with Hil26 - its how the photographer interprets something - thats the skill. Doesnt matter whether you have the cheapest or the most expensive camera in the world. My last digital camera (the one that died last weekend) was one I won in a soduko competition I think it retails for about £70! I shot my really werid jellyfish pics with that. Before that I owned a Fuji finepix - but I thought it was a trusty little camera and it was a good first digital camera to own.
Film? I have a Lubitel gathering dust somewhere. I have used in the past actionsampler (the one with 4 screens) but thats gone to camera heaven too! My latest lomo camera is a fisheye which I won as runner-up in the Absolut vodka photo competition (lol - i dont even drink vodka!) - a tricky little beast of a camera - I may tame it someday.
Ive now got the Lumix TZ3 and had a bit of play with it this weekend but nothing suitable to upload yet. best wishes.
