Mine was a really dodgy thing that my gran gave me, hardly ever used it though. My first camera that i used regularly, ish, was a nikon APS camera, which was the one i took traveling before i realised that i needed a proper camera and bought my dslr.
what were you guy's using before you went digital?
Simon.

Nikon F65 for me, really good camera. Cost me a fortune in developement costs.
Still it got me on my way into Photography.

Canon Rebel G...not fancy at all but I still use it for all my film projects until I go completely digital.

First ever camera was a very basic mf 35mm praktica that I bought nth hand from a mate at school for £20 in something like 1989/90. The shutter broke about a month later and it got dumped at the bottom of my wardrobe (it's probably still there at my parents house)
Not long after that I got a canon 35mm compact that had a massive viewfinder and a waterproof body, which i took rock climbing with me. I can't remember the model but I still have it somewhere so can check
Once I'd got tired of taking 24 crap photos I went out and splurged £400 on a Kodak DC240 zoom digital camera (1998/9 iirc) 2.1mp with a 2x zoom, it was the first camera i ever took horse racing and it was shocking
That got replaced in late 2002 with a Fuji S602zoom which was a revelation in comparison to the Kodak - i used it in manual mode because it was too slow otherwise, and then that got replaced with my D70 in mid 2004
My wife inherited the S602 until april last year when I got her a D70s for her birthday.. I was in trouble for about 10 seconds due to the amount of money I'd spent, but was pretty quickly forgiven!!

Oh dear. but looks like I might be showing my age, yes, did have a Kodak brownie, well my parents did, not enough cash in the house for the kids to have a camera.
Had an old rollieflex double lens one for a while (learning photography at youth club), whilst first slr was a Chinon. Unfortunately both well gone now, would have still liked to have the rollieflex it was lovely at the time

My first ever camera was an Instamatic. Used in my heady hippy days at free concerts and other drug crazed escapades. I even still have some of those pictures. Like hil26 we had a Brownie in the house, but I never got my sweaty paws on it.
Be afraid, be very afraid!

Its sad but true i have a Kodak Instamatic 28, A Kodak Instamatic 133-X, A Kodak 'Brownie' Cresta 3.
And an old, think its a Kodak box camera. Anyone know if and where i can get film for it. The film in it at mo is a Kodak Verichrome Pan 120 if that helps.
