Wow! Nice dof and clear background.
So - how did you get that fly to pose in your studio like that?

Superglue maybe?
The detail in the first is stunning and for hand held its amazing.
I have to get a Macro lens but with you and Adam putting some stunning shots up the question is Sigma - Canon - Canon - Sigma

So carlJ
same lens as I have, so how do you get that close, fly looks like it might be stuck on flypaper (perhaps).
I cannot get my lens that close, good crops - maybe - and that's not being negative - I am just well impressed

Adam - want me to post the bad one??? Seriously, fails are heavy with my macros.
David, no real cropping involved, but thanks to a bright sun, though conditions this female drone fly was soaking up the heat on this barrier. Just stuck my lens in front of her and moved in slowly. The black paint gives a lovely gloss - If God launched species like Audi did cars, this would be what we'd get

i know what you mean...very easy to get it soooo wrong with a macro lens...still, when you get it right...no better feeling in photography...
i get bored of my other photos long before i tire of looking at my macro shots....something about nailing a good macro shot that keep you coming back for more...however frustrating it gets!!!
