Seeing as some of you have your own websites I was wondering how I would go about doing this.Would going down the free web space route be ok or should I put some cash into it?I mean I know my pics arent good enough yet to have them shown on my own site but it an avenue I would like to look into.

Chris, before throwing any cash away, try your free webspace first with your ISP.
There are some sites that allow you to upload photos free, but limit you to 3 albums - that is you can have a landscape, macro and nature albums, to have more means paying small fee.
Photosite is probably better than flickr as the layout looks more professional (to me) and you also get a personal web address (e.g look here at the one I set up a good while back http://dhilton.photosite.com/) and its free.

I checked out your three albums and they were very nice..

Thanks Jan
it was set up a good while back after my nephews wedding so that they could see the pictures immediately - on honeymoon.
There are restrictions with photosite, but for starting off, think it gives a good format. I looked at others before eventually choosing Clickpic as my main choice for a personal website, as I feel that Clickpic would get better exposure in UK than photosite

I really like Flickr. It works well for me, and they seem to be improving it all the time. Loads of groups to show off your photos in, and a great group of people!
