I like the look of this lens. I currently have a Sigma 70-300mm, a Canon 28-135mm and the Canon 18-55mm. I'm hoping to avoid having to carry them around and wondered if this lens would meet my needs. It's my birthday soon so I feel a treat coming on! lol
Derek, know little about that particular lens, but the Sony badged version has been improved with different coatings, improved AF. Have a look at www.alphamountworld.com - quite a few Sony owners have one or the other, and can help better than I....
And like its suggested in the text - it'll save you lugging all your other lenses about with you.

Thanks for replies. Its still sounding good and those reviews were all positive. It would be good for taking out when walking instead of carrying 3 lenses around.

ordered the lens 11pm monday , arrived 11am weds from morris photography, cheaper than jessops who would'nt price match, plus a free hoya uv filter and free delivery.
