My bird ID book says this is a youngster, but it seems a bit early in the year

Mrs D says to tell you she thinks this is a great photo. How do you get so close to all these birds though - we always scare them off.

I wasn't actually too far away from them; on the prom when the tide comes in they "sit" on the rocks close to the actual footway; that and a 50-500 zoom works quite well; I also have a program called Genuine fractals ( http://www.ononesoftware.com/deta...;gclid=CL_OrJDzppkCFQ5uQgodkmrWqA ) which is fantastic for blowing up parts of images.
