Lovely moody shot, very evocative of the 50's.

I like it a lot. Smile  I think landscapes become so much more interesting and complex when you throw a person in there.  I think the composition of this shot would benefit from a tighter crop... perhaps losing some of the top and bottom, and placing the figure on the thirds line. Smile

I had a look at this, and in my mind (which really is an untrained mind at best), i felt the solitude and openness was lost a bit due to the crop....

I'll revisit it though just for you   boxing   Smile  Smile  Smile

Yeah, I get what you're saying, Gilly.  This is an image of a small, lonely figure, lost in an expanse of sea and sky.  I see what you mean about not wanting to lose too much of that expanse.  But I guess what I notice when I look at it is that compositionally, things are sort of randomly placed, and not that pleasing to the eye- the horizon is sort of in the middle, and the figure is sort of in the middle, but offset- really nowhere in particular.  Maybe one thing to try would be just losing a little bit of the foreground, so that the horizon, at least, is placed on the thirds line.  Then you'd still have that nice big, overpowering expanse of sky that you want.  There are points of power within a composition, and I don't feel that you have taken advantage of those here.  But it's your shot, your vision- please don't think I am trying to tell you what to do... just sharing ideas and critique with ya, cuz that's why I'm here.   Laughing  Cool Orc   Feel free to ignore me.  Very Happy

Blue I think the image works how it is but if you were to crop it I'd only take a touch off.
Looked at it from a couple off angle by cropping a touch of the bottom or taking a touch off the top.
Either IMO work but I still prefer the original.

LOL- to each his own.  Very Happy   We can agree to disagree.   If I have time I'll see if I can work with this and convince you, though, LOL.   -Much respect to both of you.  salut
