Not quite air guitar.

Absolutely love the background colour and lighting! I really prefer the first one. The second is rather dark and the warmth is gone from the skin tones, which are complimented by the rich background colour.

I find the artifacts around the edges distracting though.

Hmm, that was playing with my favourite effect of the moment and, um, no it didn't work. Odd how you (one) gets caught up in things. Thanks, very valuable.

But - artifacts? What are you seeing that I'm not noticing?

Next to the shoulder and all around the arm. It looks like a selective sharpening or resizing artifact. You can see it in the fingers a bit also. Both images have it. The smooth background makes the artifact show up more than it would otherwise.

Thank you both, I hope it was because I was being stingy on the quality of jpegs I've been putting up, and that I don't wear my specs when I'm at the computer. Is this better?
