Have to admit I've recently seen alot more Nikon DSLRs around, I think the launch of the D40 & D40X did Nikon alot of good as they made a camera that was more accessibly and less intimidating to people either just starting out in Photography or upgrading from a Compact or Bridge camera.
My opinion and been a current Canon owner but having owned Nikon's in the past is theres not alot of difference between the cameras IE features and performance but when you look at the pricing I personally feel Canon are to expensive. Maybe theres not alot of difference between the entry level models but as you go up the range the Canon ones become far more expensive and this could well put people off.
