Hmmm, interesting. I'm trying to work out how I feel about it. I take real pleasure in doing images and consider it part of the art, as it were. If a piece of software does it, all the challenge is gone. Also, part of the art of photography is composition, position and framing the shot.
I don't personally think I would ever use this, but I can see that people could have a lot of fun with it, so I don't disapprove of it, it just doesn't look like something that will interest me. |

Not too sure I would want other people using parts of my images (theft) to improve theirs. On flickr, settings are set to only me to download - so this would hopefully prevent the theft.
I spend time improving images, removeing blemishes, I would not want someone else to benefit from this. Not too sure about how the different resolutions from different cameras would hold together. Wonder how much flickr will get? |

Interesting,I guess it's a bit like an artist taking elements from different scenes to produce a painting but I don't think I would use it.Then again is it that different from photochopping?

i am just not that keen on other people using parts of my images without permission...
what if someone took the bottom half of one of your images to improve their crappy shot, and then went and made a bunch of money selling it...wouldn't be happy... |

copyrighti'm not sure so sure I like this either. I always think cropping is a good way to get rid of unwanted stuff. And theres so much stuff you can do like removing redeye, changing the brightness etc. With this new software I wonder what the copyright laws are? One of my friends is a lawyer who specialises in copyright and trademark law so it would be interresting to see what her thoughts were. Plus I think photography is a personal view of something but by using this new package you are just going to sanitise the whole picture. Okay so its the perfect picture and the grey sky has magically turned blue and the traffic has been painted out and somebody elses photo has been tacked in. Next time I decide to paint a picture I'll just stick in some famous artists stuff too and make bags of money - same thing isn't it? |
