Thanks
wasn't too sure about the crops you mentioned, but think you are right, was trying to leave space for them to "travel" into, will play with images tomorrow now, got loads to go through, but these seem to be pick of the bunch

I'm with Adam on loving #3 - perhaps a little removed from the left will give even more travel!

3, 4, and 5 for me give a real good sense of the action. Nice work Dave looks like your really getting to grips with the faster moving stuff

did you go to the event cos you are interested in motor cross, or was it just for the photos??

always been interested in Bikes, and believe it or not I never knew of this particular series until last week, all local (within 50 miles of where I live) so will be going back - just love the atmosphere of bike meetings - TT on the Isle of Man is something else!!!
And now with my passion for photography and a decent camera etc it's flipppin brilliant

Dave, you've posted a time machine!
I used to do sanctioned racing. It's like a drug - when I decided to retire, it took years before the sound of a 2-stroke hi-revving engine or the smell of Castrol-laced exhaust didn't send me running out the door to see, and then have my thoughts obsessed for weeks with the idea of returning to racing. I won't say how long it's been, but you've gotten my blood boiling again. I can still smell the Castrol
Hmm, I was thinking of buying a couple of lenses - maybe a new motox bike instead??
Sigh - probably not. My bones don't heal as fast these days
As a side note, my racing number, 104 has been used for both the car, and previously motox. It was because I met Roger DeCoster at a USGP at Unadilla in 1981. He had just retired from racing at the time and was manager of the Honda factory team. One of his racing numbers was 104. My hero - along with Bob Hannah
I have hundreds of photos from the USGP, but all on slides. I'd have to scan them to share them, and I don't have a scanner.
Thanks for the memories - great shots.
BTW - TT on the Isle of Man is absolutely legendary - known world wide. Don't miss it if you're truly interested in bikes!

Evo - if you ever get a scanner, would love to see some of those images from the past.
The meeting I went to was a two day event with the more experienced racers going today (Sunday) - Saturday was a practice day with a mini race in the afternoon - 1 hour race. Apparently this venue is one of the smallest tracks (5.5 miles) and according to one lad, the flattest!!!!
The practice day is held to give all newcomers and novices to the sport time to develop their skills and to experience a race; and it was great watching the youngsters (male and female) being shadowed by the more experienced riders - probably their dads.
Have always been into bikes, never raced anything in my life, but enjoyed my younger days on two wheels, going to various bike meetings, the one meeting I most enjoyed was the 3 day Transatlantic Trophy Races held over the Easter period - Barry Sheene ruled - forget that Roberts fellow
And the TT races - well they are something else - Manx GP was also great

I'll have to see if I can find a scanner somewhere. With all the photos I have, it'll take weeks to scan them all in. But I really should, both to share and to archive.

Nos. 4 and 5 for me too, great shots Dave. And on the subject of, sort of, revisiting the past, my brother and I are in the process of getting hold of either an Armstrong or Bombardier, but for nothing more taxing than the pleasure of being on a bike again.

I've thought many, many times about that... Alas, there are so many other priorities. But you never know, maybe for my 85th birthday I'll buy another bike, lol
props to you and your brother!

Think my two wheel days ara also over, wouldn't be able to pick a bike up, if it fell over (or I fell off)
