Not wanting to sound too much like a pedant, but migs were made by Mikoyan-Gurevich, not Sukhoi
That said, grats on finding a train with windows you can _see_ through, never mind shoot through and also nice work on getting the planes sharp!

Well done, great grab under somewhat less than ideal conditions.
I have always thought the Mig was a masterpiece of pragmatic (Pragmatic maxim: "Consider what effects, that might conceivably have practical bearings, we conceive the object of our conception to have. Then, our conception of these effects is the whole of our conception of the object. Charles Sanders Peirce) engineering, turn the entire fuselage into a bloody great engine, perch the pilot on top, wings on side, various bit of armament as necessary, job done.

Thanks John - the info for the migs came from the Hawarden Airfield site.
It was first time using all 51 focus points 3D tracking on auto and continuous focus - dynamic area selected - well pleased

I've read very good things of the af system on the D300; I'm hoping to have at least a D300 for next season, if not a D700 or D3 (not sure my finances are up to the task of a ff body just yet even though I know I'd make a lot of use of the low light benefits)
MiGs are known as MiGs because they're made by Mikoyan-Gurevich. Just as all Sukhoi-made planes have a code like Su-17, MiGs have a MiG-21 etc. I guess someone along the way is using MiG as a generic term for 'cold war aircraft built in the ussr' but it's not really correct ;) Sorry.. I was a military plane geek as a teen ;)

You don't ever grow out of the geek-y-ness! I felt like a kid in a sweet shop at Farnbrough
