what do you think?

Great shot, good lighting, contrast, framing, natural pose. I'd be chuffed to bits with it.

lovely shot, but would personally have liked to have seen full eyes, rather than cut through with the specs frame.

To specs or not to specs is always a tough one, especially if the person is someone who normally wears them. The person inevitably looks strange if the picture is taken without the specs. I think this picture works because the specs make up part of the character of the whole picture. Ironic perhaps from someone who spends an awful lot of time cutting things out from pictures.

I am not saying the specs shouldn't be there, I actually think that in this picture they enhance it, but the angle of the shot has restricted the view of the eyes, which I feel in a portrait style shot it is important to see them - again personal opinion only.

its always hard taking photos of Imo. she needs her glasses, blind as a bat without them so i could never take a shot of her without them because it wouldn't be the same person then! she would look funny...
this is the best shot i have taken of her, but the fact that there are not catch lights in the eyes bother me slightly..i tried to PS one in there but i couldn't pull it off properly...
but its always her glasses that cause me problems...
thanks for the comments and discussion though guys, you basically had the same convo i had with myself about it!!!

I think portraits are hard enough but when they are of family members / close friends, then for me they have to portray the person as I know them and not as I see them for just that moment.
I agree with what creators said but if your not happy try a similar shot but get down lower so you get the glasses more in line with her eyes. This may also help with getting some light into her eyes.
