I just can't get my head around this stereo viewing - I'll have to wait until I've got some time to spare to stare at my screen without interruption.
Great pics though - and autumn does seem to be making an early appearance this year.

It does take a bit of practice.
If you can look at your finger 18 inches from your face, then you have no problem converging your eyes on a point, but, in viewing these pictures, you are then doing something that you never do for anything else, you are looking beyond the point of focus to see the appropriate individual mono image for each eye.
It is probably a spatial issue and it is a case of practising until your brain makes the connection. Once it does, the process is stored and you will have little or no difficult doing it again, and it gets easier until it becomes effortless.
It is a case of intuitive learning rather than a process of logic. Putting yourself in the position of making the images available , your brain will just sort it out, so the easiest thing to do is, as it were, strike the pose, and relax.
Easier said than done, I know, partly because we are all trained out of intuitive learning at a very young age. Seeing these things is like a Zen koan, the harder you work at it the further away it seems to get, enlightenment comes in a moment of 'WOW' insight.

I may as well continue on this thread...
This little creature upped and died in the house, so I decided I'd like a stereo of its wings before burial with honour.

There is a very good tutorial here about how to view cross eyed stereo pairs.
