Smile I know it does and maybe I won't get too close to the object the next time. I will practice more with this setting. Smile

Did you shoot handheld? I've not really done any macro stuff, but I've read that it's really, really hard to do without some form of support, beit monopod or tripod

I did shoot it handheld and that could be a reason as well. I will try again until I get this right..lol Very Happy

Some macro lenses are not capable of auto focussing through their entire range.

I know with my Olympus 35mm macro, when I get very close, I must manually focus the lens.

Just a thought. Check the instructions that came with your lens to see if this is something you need to think about.

Another thing to do, especially if you're not using a macro, is look up your lens's minimum focus distance. You may actually be closer than the lens can focus. If that information did not come with the lens, you can usually find it on the manufacturer's web site.

Very Happy Thanks for the tip but I own a Fuji 5.2 pix with no adaptable lenses. This is my first digital camera and I am in the learning process of using this one. I will practice more and try to improve the image I want to get. I will get a more sophisticated camera in time..especially after I improve with the one I have now. Thanks for the tips and suggestions! Very Happy

Ah, I see. Well, one thing you can try is to take a couple of pictures a little further away and see if the focus improves. That may at least tell you if you were too close and good focus was impossible. Then you'll have a feel for how close you can get in the future.

I took another try at this and I think it is improved a little..lol Very Happy
