if so, I copy my photos to my pc using Picasa...and i have a feeling its stripping all the EXIF data..
i hadn't noticed until yesterday when I tried to create a HRD image and it failed...i am guessing the EXIF data is needed for the software to work? i am using CS2...
i had a quick scan through my photos and cant see a drop of EXIF data anywhere...not happy....

I can't help you as I have never used Picasa, I am just staggered that it would do that. I can see that stripping the EXIF data might be an option, but at the, I assume, default setting? That is just..... dumb.
Thumbs Plus has an option to strip all the data to reduce the file size for web use, not that I've ever used it, can understand you're not a happy bunny. Hope you get it sorted.

its not picasa..my point and shoot casio and sony are both fine...EXIF data intact...
the canon..nothing...
any ideas?

I know that PS uses the EXIF data to do HRD, because it whinged about two photographs I was trying to use because the exposure variables weren't good enough. As to why you are losing the data from your 350d, sorry mate, clueless, not even a half arsed guess. Is the data there if you open a RAW file straight into PS?
adam
i will check it out... may just be because the pc doesn't really know how to handle RAW files...
its a worry tho....need to get to the bottom of it...
i will let you know my findings!!
cheers Keith...

Not too sure about picasso, but cs2 is quirky with hrd.
you have to have good extremes ... bit late, its friday and sherberts have been had.
Have u tried importing RAW images straight into CS2
Have u got photomatix? - if not they have a free trial version - if you have try that with your images - it gave me more succes with hrd images.
