colwyn bay pier

I'm not sure what I think about this one Dave, it has the look and feel of a very old photograph and captures the scale and magnitude of the incredible structure of the pier. But it does look, from a modern perspective, very over exposed. Did you manipulate the shot deliberately to achieve this?

Keith - no manipulation at all - looked at the histogram in LCD and liked the look

it is, as is -

I did take number of images - bracketed exposures et al , but have still to get round to post processing them.

Spot metering from underside blew every highlight there was, but felt the image did not need any help - if that makes sense. Will get back to looking at the other images taken that day soon and with a view to making a comparison.

Idea on the day was to do a panorama of the pier from shore to seaward side - but tide put paid to that idea at the time.

Thanks Dave, then, as shot, I think it's a great shot, I love what you've caught and it is the better for not being manipulated. You've caught the guttural quality of all that iron work beautifully.

cheers Keith
