Took my D40 on holiday with me and noticed half way through that my pictures were getting a bright red pixel in the middle of every picture,
being new to all this, i tried my other lens to see if it was something wrong with the lens i was using, but it appeared again, which led me to believe it was a problem with the sensor,
taken it back to currys (boo) and theyve sent it off
gutted,
just hope this isnt typical of nikon and this is what photographys going to turn into,
ill keep this thread updated as to what happens
o and this is the damn pixel ruining all my pics

Tony, your images are not ruined as they are easily fixed if you have some "keepers".
Just need to use editing program and use the clone tool.

Oh yea i know ive already fixed the keepers in photoshop, but i aint doing that forever lol
how much do you think it would cost nikon/canon to replace a sensor in a camera?

haven't got a clue - but should be done for free - if not complain LOUDLY
jonH
they won't replace the sensor - they'll map out the hot pixel. it's not a totally uncommon complaint and isn't unique to canon
you should find the work will be carried out under warranty
mr_tone
yea the work will be carried out under warranty, but i have learnt a lesson, do not buy from currys.
places like argos dont argue, if somethings wrong they replace it, feels as though currys are trying there hardest to prove ive broken it from misuse
