Have to admit the eyes have been tweaked a touch, thats one of my biggest problems (getting detail into the eyes).

No just a little Dodge & Burn, to be honest didn't have to do alot to them even though i say it myself she as great eyes and not due to my editing

another trick for eyes is to select then use sharpen fileter on them, not much but does bring them up a treat - not done it myself but have seen it done
edit - forgot - very nice pic, but the one you posted for comp has more going for it

My initial reaction as well!
But they go well with the cute nose and wonderful smile!
I think there is a winner here somewhere. Maybe a very close crop?

Gorgeous little lady!
I love her smile and her eyes are just make the picture.
Maybe the wall above the top of the sofa is a slight distraction, but it's still a very lovely photograph.
