First, the lighting. It looks dull and with so much of one colour, there isn't enough contrast in either highlights/shadows or dof to help separate detail or make it pop.
The diagonal lines of the green stems draw the eye out of the image instead of leading to something. Because they are of a contrasting colour, the eye is immediately drawn to them rather than the flowers, then out of the image. If the stems were more random throughout the image, that would add colour and pattern though, which could help nicely.
Lastly is something I myself struggle with all the time, and that is to ask yourself, what you are trying to say or show with the image. It isn't clear what the centre of attention should be, so there is no impact. It's not quite random enough to qualify as an abstract pattern, so without a clear subject, it simply appears busy.
A change in composition and lighting may help though.

Well goodness me and there you go, I love this picture. An image like this doesn't need a centre of attention, though as a general rule that works, this image works through igoring the rule, for me. It's a really lovely shot.
