I thought of this the other day and thought that I would share it with you guys.
A friend at work asked me to have a look at this photo for him. The little girl either in the front or in the arms of the adult had just died two weeks before her 100 birthday, and the family wanted copies of this photo. He asked if there was anything I could do with it.
It had been kept in a frame for its entire life and was badly damaged by the sun and handling.
The original image was scanned in at 1200 dpi and came out as 168meg!! and looked something like this.
It took me about a month to edit, doing it in one or two hour sittings.
Firstly I cloned out and healed all the cracks and damage. Reconstructing the little girls face was a challenge to say the least. After that was done I adjusted levels and all the other gubins to see if I could improve anything. This included trying to cut out the sun damaged area in the middle and make it match the outer edge. I had only had CS for about two months prior to this so it was a massive job.
Once I had finish all that I converted one to b&w and kept the other one the same, then printed it off. The finished article was well received and I actually printed off about 6. Anyhow, here they are.
Hope you like. Just thought I'd give people an idea of the other stuff that can be achieved in CS. Its not just for old photo's. I also have about another 10 that are waiting to be done, need to work myself up to do them though.
