I like the idea, but would have liked to have seen more of the eyes. Maybe a reflector under the chin area to take the shadows away from under the glasses to hmmm.

I have to agree. The eye glasses frame covering the eyes hurts this I think. The shadows don't seem to be adding anything to the image. If the they are intended to add drama, then I think it needs something more. But to be honest, I can't figure out what that would be
When I see such a close crop of a face, something I look for is really sharp focus and contrast which brings lots of texture and character to the image. Although a nice image, it's a little soft as far as that goes.
Not being a portrait photographer, I don't have the experience to offer much in the way of suggestions to improve the shot. But I think it needs something
