This was actually going to be my entry for the weekend competion, but I didn't have enough time to process it before the deadline.  It has kind of a funny story... I was looking for a way to shoot directly into my studio strobe for the contra-jour theme, without seeing the actual light, stand, cords, etc. in the finished picture.  Looking around my studio, I had the idea that my daughter could somehow hold the shoot-through umbrella in front of the light... of course the umbrella made me feel that she should be in rain gear... and of course we then needed to pose it and frame it so as to appear that we were outdoors.  She's actually standing directly in front of the strobe.  I am really, really pleased with the result- it's probably my favorite shot of the whole week. Smile  Let me know your thoughts. Smile

Great shot Blue and a great idea. Your kids are very natural in front of a camera. My only suggestion would be to have tried it one or two stops down to have reduced the highlights a little.

Great thinking and very well thought out. As Keith as suggested maybe worth a try just to reduce the highlights.
Great shot though.
