You are accessing this forum with [trillian] as part of the url. This may be happening automatically following a move to a new server, or it may be something you are doing as part of a phpbb3 upgrade. If this is not part of an upgrade then be patient and do not bookmark the link, the old links will be working again shortly. If this is part of an upgrade then make sure the owner finalises it in the control panel and selects to redirect to this version of the forum, then once again the link will return to being the old one within 48 hours or so. NEVER BOOKMARK OR PUBLISH THIS LINK IT WILL NOT ALWAYS WORK.

Can someone tell me how you get a photo from Flickr onto your thread on this forum? I can do it easily with photobucket but must be missing something simple as i just can't see how to do it.
cheers, derek _________________ happy 50th birthday - motown records
It just so happens that I was trying this today for the first time and found that if you click the 'share this image' button and select 'Embed'; then you can copy the img src URL. _________________ --

Thanks for your replies everyone. After much head scratching I have achieved success. But isn't there a size between 500x264 and 1024 x 541? This looks very small. Also, I am not nimble fingered enough to do all that "image/bracket" fiddling each time. I think I'll stick to Photobucket.
cheers anyway

it's fiddly but that looks a lot nicer than the photobucket ones - much less compression _________________ There is nothing in life that cannot be improved with either monkeys, pirates or ninjas NPU Member
It certainly would be helpful if Flickr could provide a link to use on forums wouldn't it!
Creators - I was given the link to that thread when I first started posting here (thanks again Hil!) and so I looked through my old posts to find it. _________________ My Flickr Pics
I'll write to them and perhaps if several of us did so it might happen. Going through the process of making sure there is a back link is a pain. _________________
Can you explain a bit more please? I've got Greasemonkey but don't understand how to use it apart from it letting people know how you came across their page when you comment. _________________
well... there are hundreds of different scripts that are written to go along with greasemonkey - I don't know the full ins and outs but I just click the Install button and it does it for me.
Thank you. I can't navigate there at the moment, I just don't understand what is wrong with my browser/computer/whatever. I have three computers, two are fine and navigate and browse with no problem. The main one just hangs and it's driving me nuts. I've just removed and reinstalled Firefox to see if that solved it. Nope, and Internet Explorer is worse. Grahhhhhhhh! _________________
I've started using Flock as a browser... powered by firefox it fully integrates with flickr and makes keeping up with your contacts a lot easier. It sounds like it's something to do with your computer though rather than your browser. _________________ My Flickr Pics
Hmm, yes I think I may have found the problem. I just went for a reboot and an error message came up "UiPopupHidden is not responding, end program" From a quick look on the web this is malware. I am trying to get rid of it now. _________________

I wrote to them some time ago now - hopefully if people keep asking, they'll do something about it _________________ There is nothing in life that cannot be improved with either monkeys, pirates or ninjas NPU Member
Too fiddly for me I'm afraid. Not quick enough on the keyboard!
derek, you don't need to go through the whole process, the one explained allows users to link back to your image on flickr, but the easiest way is to use the
"Grab the photos URL" - box 2 below your image.
then copy the contents of this box and paste between img and /img tabs. Square brackets omitted here, but will be needed in order for it to work. _________________ -----------------------------------------------------

thanks for that but it's so much easier to click the copy image code button in photobucket, especially when you have several you want to post up. and having tried flickr, i'm not keen on the choice of sizes. i'll have to put up with the slight reduction in quality. _________________ happy 50th birthday - motown records

Except as previously mentioned, that is in breach of flickr's t&cs. If you've got a free account that's no big deal, but if you've just paid for 12 months of pro usage, then getting your account suspended for breaching the terms could be a little irritating _________________ There is nothing in life that cannot be improved with either monkeys, pirates or ninjas NPU Member
bump - Creators, have you worked out the greasemonkey script thing? It's made life so much easier for me since I downloaded it - adding a Flickr pic to a forum is now a simple mouseclick procedure. _________________ My Flickr Pics
keith - its painless, install the script, make sure Greasemonkey is running, go to all sizes for the image and the code box will have changed. Click on the [] icon and the script auto changes to the code required for the forum, copy and paste to thread on forum - _________________ -----------------------------------------------------
Dave, I had got to the install the script bit and it worked and I was just staring to the new box in a vacant sort of way, when your post appeared with the last piece of the jigsaw. Part of the problem had been that I have Firefox 3 and some addons don't work in that yet. But it is now stunningly, brilliantly, fabulously WORKING! My thanks to you and Shirley for your help.
