These were taken in overcast skies using everything default, with the kit lens. I did a bit of cropping. The color may be a bit "over the top". I will play with backing off the saturation a bit.
I had read that the D40 had high saturation, going for the 'postcard' crowd. Not bad for a kit lens, though. However, there are a a whole lot of menu items I can change just to see what their effect will be.
As you said, "let the fun begin". _________________ "Nothing exceeds like excess"
somebody is now going to have some fun - nice first images, agreed a bit too much colour though - is that in the image editing program or straight from camera - if its from camera the menu's will have a facility in them - not too sure how much iot works though. _________________ -----------------------------------------------------
First seen in the D80, the D40 has a retouch menu that allows you to tint and tone your pictures, as well as instantly correct wayward exposures or remove redeye.
The image optimisation settings have been extended to include useful Vivid Plus and Black-and-White modes, and there are the same in-camera retouching options as those found on the more expensive D80.
Think you may need to reset this vivid plus setting
Its about all I can find at the moment - am at work _________________ -----------------------------------------------------
I am sure there are a few settings that need adjusting. I will experiment tonight. The images are still in the camera. Otherwise, there is always Nikon's image editor or PS.
